Prevalence of PMDD

It is estimated that approximately 3 - 10% of women
of reproductive age worldwide suffer from PMDD. 
Compare that to the worldwide prevalence of other mental health disorders, and it becomes clear that there is a huge disconnect between what women are experiencing - and what the mental health community is talking about.

The table above gives us an idea of some of the mental health concerns facing women.  If you compare the prevalence of bipolar disorder, 0.6% of individuals worldwide, with the estimated prevalence of PMDD in females worldwide, 3 - 10%, it's shocking that premenstrual dysphoric disorder remains an often unknown, unacknowledged, or invalidated condition.
